Employer Identification Number

Once both the Articles of Organization and the Operating Agreement have been completed the next step should be to obtain an Employee Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS. You can go to www.irs.gov for more information on the EIN.

The EIN is required to open a business bank account unless you want to use your personal Social Security number. It is a pretty easy process to get an EIN and can be done electronically online. There are no fees required to get an EIN.
